MUSEC – Museum of Cultures
Unpublished Photo (UP) is an international competition conceived in 2018 by the 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery in Milan and promoted since 2020 by the Foundation for Culture and Museums and MUSEC in Lugano. Young photographers under 30 are invited to submit a portfolio of ten unpublished images, developing a narrative on a free theme.
UP23 attracted over two hundred photographers from thirty-five countries worldwide. The interest in current and global issues, such as environmental conservation and the assertion of human dignity, remains evident. Exploring unconventional languages in resonance with personal identities and sensitivities is a recurring theme among photographers.
The international jury, led by Roberto Polillo, awarded, in order: Andrey Podlednev (Russia), Madeleine Brunnmeier (Germany), Aleksandr Lialiushkin (Russia), and W.VV.VV (Singapore). The special Artphilein Editions prize, consisting of the publication of a bilingual art monograph in English and German, went to Madeleine Brunnmeier.
The exhibition features six first prints from each winner, along with the original title and the year of portfolio creation. The showcase is complemented by a bilingual catalog in Italian and English, encompassing all ten photographs from each of the four laureates (FCM Editions).

Monte Ceneri is the second venue of the CIC On Swiss Bike Cup and is located in the triangle of Lugano-Bellinzona-Locarno. The cross-country circuit of the Tamaro Trophy, measuring 4.2 km, is one of the most technically challenging routes in Switzerland and is feared for its steep natural rock gardens.

Ticino once again the protagonist of a major international sporting event: Tamaro Trophy 2024 returns on March 23 and 24.
Following the success of the Tamaro Trophy 2023, Velo Club Monte Tamaro has decided to join the prestigious CIC ON Swiss Bike Cup circuit by becoming the second stage of the 7 planned. The Monteceneri course will thus join the races in Gränichen (AG), Lugano (TI), Leysin (VD), Echallens (VD), Basilea (BL) e Crans Montana (VS).
The TAMARO TROPHY 2024 is shaping up to be a spectacular event where high-profile sport is combined with many events specifically designed for the Bike Community.
Great news coming up: the race will be top of the category as it is classified by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a Cross Country XCO category HC (Hors Class) and will consequently see the participation of great champions in both the men's and women's categories. Important recognition for the Junior categories (male female) as the race is valid as Uci Junior Series (equal to the XCO World Cup for juniors)!
The greatest champions in the world are already ready to challenge each other on a circuit that, in the world of MTB, is universally recognized as one of the most spectacular.
More than 500 athletes are expected, including Elite, U23 and juniors, in addition to hundreds of amateur bikers who will come to us to discover our region.
